We're going whole-hog for this Cheers to Puppeteers as we're joined by Muppet performer Eric Jacobson. You know Eric as the performer behind some of the most iconic Muppet characters, many of which were originated by Frank Oz, including Miss Piggy, Grover, Fozzie Bear, Bert, and many more. Eric also inherited the role of Oscar the Grouch from Caroll Spinney upon his retirement in 2018.
Tune in as we talk with Eric about his incredible journey through the world of puppetry, from discovering his talent as a mimic at a young age, learning to perform marionettes at some of New York's most prestigious companies, and how Jim Henson's death inspired him to keep the Muppet legacy alive. We'll also discuss the challenge of puppeteering from home, his mentorship with Frank Oz, and the making of Muppets Now. PLUS: find out what happens when a radio-controlled Elmo goes haywire!
