There are certain individuals throughout puppet history whose work and influence create an indelible impact on the art form. One such person is our guest this week: Bart Roccoberton. Bart is the director of the Puppet Arts program at the University of Connecticut, founder of the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center's Institute of Professional Puppetry Arts and National Puppetry Conference, and helms his own company Pandemonium Puppets.
Listen in as we hear Bart's story, from his early days as a traveling rock musician to forming an educational philosophy during his tenure at UCONN. You'll also learn about some of the puppetry giants on whose shoulders Bart stands on, including Margo Rose, Albrecht Roser, Allelu Kurten, and Jim Henson. PLUS: we learn the key secret-ingredient in Roccoberton putty!
